New Director for QC Airport ?

A man from Washington state might be the next executive director of the Quad City Airport. Wednesday it announced final contract terms are being worked out with Ben Leischner  to replace Bruce Carter who's going to retire.

Leischner has worked for the Port of Seattle, Seattle-Tacoma International Airport, since 2011, and before that worked for the airport in Bellingham, Washington.

The consultant working with the Quad City Airport, ADK Consulting and Executive Search, says he has "a diversified background in airport planning, operations, and airline negotiations." He's also a multi-engine commercial instrument rated pilot.

Once a contract with Leischner is worked out, it will go to the commissioners of the Quad City Airport for their approval. ADK received 37 applications for the job, and four finalists visited the Quad Cities last month.

A native of Detroit, Herb Trix began his radio career as a country-western disc jockey in Roswell, New Mexico (“KRSY, your superkicker in the Pecos Valley”), in 1978. After a stint at an oldies station in Topeka, Kansas (imagine getting paid to play “Louie Louie” and “Great Balls of Fire”), he wormed his way into news, first in Topeka, and then in Freeport Illinois.
