Thanks to a midwestern chain of furniture stores, 35 families in the Quad Cities will receive a new bed for Christmas. Monday Slumberland Furniture Stores of Davenport and Moline delivered new mattresses, box springs, and frames to Bethany for Children and Families in Moline.
Director of Development, Dylan Davis, says this is the 9th year Slumberland has made this holiday gift to Bethany. And most of us take having a bed for granted.
"There are people in the Quad Cities who are sleeping on the floor, or on couches, or on just pillows. Or people sleeping more than 2, 3, or 4 to a bed. This is not just a donation of beds, it's a donation of more restful sleep, it's a donation of better lives. This affects work, school, and just life in general."
Slumberland has stores in Moline and Davenport, and the donation to Bethany comes from the annual company program called "Making Homes for the Holidays."
