Even while construction continues, a small group of students got to "walk the halls" of Franklin Elementary School.
This afternoon, Moline Superintendent, Lanty McGuire, and Shive Hattery employees guided the kindergarten through fourth graders as they put on virtual reality goggles to see how their school will look next fall.
McGuire watched a monitor as students viewed the design of the halls, classrooms, and other parts of the building. He says virtual reality sort of made him dizzy.
Last month, the Moline Board of Education hired Russell Construction to remodel Franklin after a fire severely damaged it last September.
Since then, Franklin students have been going to class in the former Western Illinois University building on 60th Street in Moline, just off John Deere Road.
