Moline Amtrak Station, "The Q," Logo Unveiled

Renew Moline and the City of Moline
The new "Q" logo

Without knowing when Amtrak service will finally connect the Quad Cities with Chicago, the city of Moline continues to move forward with the design of its train station. Tuesday morning, city officials and Renew Moline unveiled a new logo for "The Q," or the Quad Cities Multi-Modal passenger rail station.

Last spring, the city and MetroLINK began renovating the 100-year-old O'Rourke building at 4th Avenue and 12th Street. Construction has included removing asbestos and lead paint, tuck pointing, and patching concrete.

The train station's design also includes a 95-room hotel and retail space.

After unveiling a new logo for "The Q," city officials lead a tour of the empty O'Rourke building. The train station could be completed by next spring.
