Mallards 'Part Ways' With Pres. & GM

WVIK News

After five years on the job, Bob McNamara is no longer the president and general manager of the Quad City Mallards. Tuesday a press release from the team said he and the team "have parted ways."

Mallards owner Jordan Melville is quoted as saying McNamara did a great job leading the team, and that he, Melville, looks forward "to leading the organization as we begin the next phase of the franchise's growth."

McNamara was named the Mallards’ president in 2012 after spending more than 20 years as an executive with teams in the American Hockey League and International Hockey League.

A native of Detroit, Herb Trix began his radio career as a country-western disc jockey in Roswell, New Mexico (“KRSY, your superkicker in the Pecos Valley”), in 1978. After a stint at an oldies station in Topeka, Kansas (imagine getting paid to play “Louie Louie” and “Great Balls of Fire”), he wormed his way into news, first in Topeka, and then in Freeport Illinois.
