Mallards Open Training Camp

WVIK Staff

Training camp opened today for the Quad City Mallards, as they begin preparing for the new season. They'll practice at the I Wireless Center in Moline and River's Edge in Davenport.

The Mallards will play just one exhibition game, on October 11, on the road, then open their second season in the ECHL on October 16 at Allen.
Their home opener is set for the following weekend, October 23.

A native of Detroit, Herb Trix began his radio career as a country-western disc jockey in Roswell, New Mexico (“KRSY, your superkicker in the Pecos Valley”), in 1978. After a stint at an oldies station in Topeka, Kansas (imagine getting paid to play “Louie Louie” and “Great Balls of Fire”), he wormed his way into news, first in Topeka, and then in Freeport Illinois.
