Chairwoman Andy McGuire says many voters have been left out of the Iowa caucuses for decades. They include military personnel, their families, students, and other Iowans who happen to be out of the state or country on caucus night. So this year, the party hired a specialized telephone service.

As a political science major, I'm really looking forward to going but was worried about missing the Iowa caucuses. When I found out there would be a way for me to participate, I was ecstatic.

Those who qualify under the Uniformed and Overseas Citizens Absentee Voting Act may register for the tele-caucus at theIowa Democratic Party website. It will verify that they're members of the Iowa Democratic Party and registered to vote. And the deadline to sign up is January 6th.
