InternQC Engages Young Professionals

Credit Quad Cities Chamber of Commerce

Hoping to attract talented young people to live in the Quad Cities, the chamber of commerce is once again sponsoring InternQC. Last summer was the first time it held a series of events to showcase local culture and the quality of life, while offering networking and career development opportunities.

Greg Aguilar is the Director of Talent Attraction and Retention for the chamber. He says over 200 interns have signed up for this summer's program, which includes free lunches and discussions ranging from corporate careers to entrepreneurship and the arts.
Several local companies offer internships that draw college students and recent graduates to the the area. Major supporters of InternQC include Alcoa, Daytrotter, Deere & Co., and The United Way.

Aguilar says the goal of the program is to determine what attracts young professionals to the area, and what it takes to convince them to stay.
