Help Solve a Cold Case

Whiteside County Sheriff's Office

The sheriff's office in Whiteside County is trying once again to solve a more-than-20- year old murder case. Wednesday it announced detectives are working with federal authorities and local agencies to try and dig up information about Kimberly Mabry.

Mabry worked in Rockford as an exotic dancer, and was last seen in September of 1994. About 8 months later, in April 1995, her dismembered body was found in a creek in a remote, rural area of Whiteside County.

Anyone with information can call the Whiteside County Sheriff's Office, or to remain anonymous, they can call Crime Stoppers.

(Whiteside County Sheriff’s Lieutenant John Booker at 815-772-4044,
or Crime Stoppers (toll free) 1-877-625-7867 or 815-625-7867).

A native of Detroit, Herb Trix began his radio career as a country-western disc jockey in Roswell, New Mexico (“KRSY, your superkicker in the Pecos Valley”), in 1978. After a stint at an oldies station in Topeka, Kansas (imagine getting paid to play “Louie Louie” and “Great Balls of Fire”), he wormed his way into news, first in Topeka, and then in Freeport Illinois.
