Vic Schutz, Computer Graphics Supervisor for Industrial Light and Magic

"People come to us with ideas, and we figure out how to put them on the screen." That's how Vic Schutz describes what he and his co-workers do at Industrial Light and Magic - including work on Star Wars movies, Harry Potter, and Pirates of the Caribbean.

Schutz will talk at Augustana College Thursday night.

Herb Trix reports.

Vic Schutz will speak at 7 pm Thursday in Augustana College's Olin Auditorium, about his work at Industrial Light and Magic in San Francisco.

A native of Detroit, Herb Trix began his radio career as a country-western disc jockey in Roswell, New Mexico (“KRSY, your superkicker in the Pecos Valley”), in 1978. After a stint at an oldies station in Topeka, Kansas (imagine getting paid to play “Louie Louie” and “Great Balls of Fire”), he wormed his way into news, first in Topeka, and then in Freeport Illinois.
