Habitat of Quad Cities Builds 103rd Home

Google Images

103 and counting. That's the number of houses Habitat for Humanity of the Quad Cities has built so far. On Saturday, the charity will dedicate its 103rd home near Washington Elementary School in Davenport.

Koffi Attisso and CeCe Dedou, both from , will live in the new house with their daughters, Leah and Ablavi. The family volunteered over 360 hours with Habitat while construction was going on.

They'll also pay a zero-interest loan of about eighty thousand dollars back to the organization, which will help pay for new homes.

Each house costs Habitat for Humanity around $100,000 dollars to build.

I am currently a senior at Augustana College, majoring in Multimedia Journalism and Mass Communication with a minor in Creative Writing. I serve as the General Manager for WAUG.fm, Augustana's online student radio station and have worked as an intern and DJ at Studstill Media Group. I report on local news for WVIK and am honored and excited to be a part of the news team. I hope to pursue a career in radio broadcasting and an eventual master's degree in English or Communications.
