Graduations Galore

Many college students who belong to the Class of 2017 will graduate over the next week. 

On Saturday at one pm at the iWireless Center in Moline, Saint Ambrose University will hold commencement exercises for 468 students who will receive bachelor's degrees, 194 who'll earn their masters. The keynote speaker will be Kenneth Hackett, who recently served as the US Ambassador to the Vatican. Hackett is also the former president and CEO of Catholic Relief Services.

On Sunday at 1:30 pm, also at the iWireless Center, Western Illinois University Quad Cities will host its graduation ceremony for 281 students.

About 280 Monmouth College students will also graduate on Sunday on the lawn in front of Wallace Hall. Juan Sepúlveda, Senior Vice President of the Public Broadcasting System, will be the Fighting Scots' main speaker.

Then on Monday night at 6, Scott Community College students will participate in commencement at the iWireless Center.

And on Wednesday at 7 pm, students from Black Hawk College will their receive degrees and certificates, also at the arena in Moline. The East campus of Black Hawk College will hold its commencement ceremony on Friday, May 19th, at the National Guard Armory in Kewanee.

Officially, Michelle's title for 28 years was WVIK News Editor. She did everything there is to do in the newsroom and whatever was needed around the radio station. She also served as Acting News Director from September 2023 - January 2024.
