Local officials want to know Quad Cities residents would spend federal transportation funds. Tomorrow, the Bi-State Regional Commission's transportation policy committee will hold a public hearing about the Transportation Improvement Program for 2017 through 2020.
Brandon Melton, a Senior Planner from Bi-State, says the planning process is comprehensive and includes road, trail, and transit projects. One of the biggest is building a new I-74 bridge, and work on the piers should begin in 2018.
And Melton says the plan includes summaries of transportation projects to be implemented in each of the four years. Other big projects include 76th Street in Davenport and finishing Veterans Memorial Parkway in Davenport.
The Bi-State Regional Commisssion will hold the public hearing tomorrow at noon, on the 3rd floor of the Rock Island County building.
