This summer, the University of Illinois Extension is teaching people why they can't live without agriculture. One of the first "lessons" will be held tomorrow in Aledo, called "Farm in the Park."

Teresa Kirwan is the Program Coordinator for Agriculture Education in Mercer County. She works with kids in 4-H and visits schools, teaching students about farming and how it affects them. For example, when asked where milk comes from, most tell her, the grocery store.

Tomorrow's Farm in the Park will include several booths where children and adults will learn about dairy products, meat, and crops. Friday's Farm in the Park starts at 3:00 P.M. at Central Park in Aledo. Also tomorrow, 4-H will hold its annual, barbecue fundraiser, at the fire station, followed by a free movie in the park.
