Evening News for Thursday, November 9, 2017

tonight's headlines:

  • the Davenport Fire Department might have to find a job for a former chief,
  • how a destination marketing fee could help the Quad Cities,
  • and a republican state legislator from the Iowa Quad Cities now has at least one democratic opponent.

Clear and cold tonight, with a low around 16. Sunny on Friday, high near 33.

A native of Detroit, Herb Trix began his radio career as a country-western disc jockey in Roswell, New Mexico (“KRSY, your superkicker in the Pecos Valley”), in 1978. After a stint at an oldies station in Topeka, Kansas (imagine getting paid to play “Louie Louie” and “Great Balls of Fire”), he wormed his way into news, first in Topeka, and then in Freeport Illinois.
