iowaenergyplan.org

Dubuque residents could help Iowa develop its first comprehensive energy plan. Thursday, the state will hold a public forum for the Iowa Energy Plan, at Northeast Iowa Community College in Dubuque.

Tina Hoffman is the spokeswoman for the Iowa Economic Development Authority. She says when the energy plan is finished, it will list ways Iowa can provide affordable and sustainable energy across the state.

The plan will focus on economic development and careers, available resources, transportation, and conservation.
Hoffman says Thursday's public forum in Dubuque will be the last of 6 held across the state.

The group wanted to reach every area of Dubuque.

Previous public forums for the Iowa Energy Plan were held in Storm Lake, Council Bluffs, Cedar Rapids, Ames, and Ottumwa.

Hoffman says the Iowa Energy Plan's leadership team includes Lieutenant Governor Kim Reynolds, the Iowa Partnership for Economic Progress, and the Iowa Department of Transportation.

The Iowa Energy Plan should be completed next fall.
