Augustana College will observe Constitution Day on Thursday. Students and staff will take turns reading from the preamble to the Constitution and the Bill of Rights.
The reading will be done in the rotunda (3rd floor) of Old Main where reproductions of the documents are on permanent display, thanks to a gift from 1971 graduate John Malvik, and his wife Wanda.
A federal law recommends every college and university that receives federal funding observe Constitution Day each year on September 17th.
The readings at Augustana will start on the hour, from 8 am to 5 pm.
