Centennial Bridge Lane Closures Extended

Lane closures will continue on the Centennial Bridge longer than expected.

Originally, the Illinois Department of Transportation said the final stages of the two-year repair project would end this week, and all four lanes would be re-open. But now the completion date has been pushed back two weeks.
The DOT blames what it calls "complications" with the final repairs.
It does say however, equipment will be moved off the bridge this weekend for the Quad Cities Marathon.

A native of Detroit, Herb Trix began his radio career as a country-western disc jockey in Roswell, New Mexico (“KRSY, your superkicker in the Pecos Valley”), in 1978. After a stint at an oldies station in Topeka, Kansas (imagine getting paid to play “Louie Louie” and “Great Balls of Fire”), he wormed his way into news, first in Topeka, and then in Freeport Illinois.
