Bald Eagle Weekend

Quad City Conservation Alliance

Events celebrating our national symbol will be held in the Quad Cities and Clinton this weekend.

The QCCA Expo Center in Rock Island will host the 30th annual Bald Eagle Days - Friday through Sunday. Along with exhibits, activities, and shows, visitors will be invited to view eagles "in the wild" - feeding at Lock and Dam 15 between Davenport and Rock Island, and at Lock and Dam 14 in LeClaire.

The 33rd annual Clinton Bald Eagle Watch will be held on Saturday at Clinton Community College featuring exhibits and educational programs. And a shuttle bus will take visitors out to Lock and Dam 13 in Fulton for outdoor viewing of bald eagles.

A native of Detroit, Herb Trix began his radio career as a country-western disc jockey in Roswell, New Mexico (“KRSY, your superkicker in the Pecos Valley”), in 1978. After a stint at an oldies station in Topeka, Kansas (imagine getting paid to play “Louie Louie” and “Great Balls of Fire”), he wormed his way into news, first in Topeka, and then in Freeport Illinois.
