A group of young business leaders from Africa visited the Quad Cities today as part of the US State Department's Young African Leadership Initiative. Twenty-five Mandela Fellows have come to the US to learn ways to improve their skills and help their communities when they return home.

Another Mandela Fellow, AjiRohey, is from Gambia and has a degree in management, and is planning what she calls a "home-care start-up." She says unemployed young people in Gambia can get jobs helping people in their homes.
John Siboniyo worked as a journalist in Burundi but quit due to political unrest. He's since started Ever Clean City, a trash collection and recycling business.
The 25 Mandela Fellows took a tour of Augustana's campus before heading to WIU-QC to learn about supply chain management. They will spend six weeks in the US before heading home.
