Nine former standout athletes at Augustana College will be honored this weekend. They'll be inducted into the "Tribe of Vikings Hall of Fame" on Saturday, as part of the Homecoming celebration.

They'll be the 19th class inducted into the Hall of Fame, and will be presented at halftime during the football game between Augustana and Wheaton.

The former athletes graduated between 2000 and 2004, and excelled in cross country, track, baseball, soccer, football, volleyball, wrestling and basketball.

Just as the new hockey season is about to start, the Quad City Mallards are making a major change. Today  the board of governors of the E-C-H-L accepted their application to join the league.

Today the annual Birdies for Charity program passed out the proceeds from last summer's PGA tournement. Each year, people pledge to charities based on the number of birdies scored by the professional golfers. And this year the pledges, boosted by gifts from the tournement and the John Deere Foundation, add up to 6.3 million dollars.
